New Website goes live on 29th April

Beech Park are excited to be launching a new members website on 29th April.  The new website will be user friendly and allow us as a club to have more control over the information on the website as well as the look and feel of the site.  It’s designed by members FOR members.

For those of you who wish to see a preview of the new website, and perhaps test it with the devices you use to book your golf, we will be holding an open “drop in” session on Wednesday evening, 18thApril,  (prior to the EGM) to demonstrate the new website, take your feedback and suggestions and test it against the devices you use to make sure you don’t run into problems when we go live on 29th

Gents Handicap Matchplay

Due to the recent, and persistent, inclement weather it has been decided to put the qualifying for the Gents Handicap Matchplay back by 1 week.  The qualifiers will now take place on Sat 14th and Sun 15th April.

 
There will be a normal Gents Singles Stableford taking place on both Sat 7th and Sun 8th April instead.

Notification of Special General Meeting – 18th April 2018

  Special General Meeting

A Special General Meeting of the Club will be held in the clubhouse on Wednesday 18th April 2018 at 8.00pm for the purpose of considering alterations to the 17th hole as displayed on club notice board as of  5th  April 2018.

The Motion is:
It is proposed that the following alterations to the 17th hole be carried out as approved by golf architect Eddie Connaughton and as detailed below:

  •  Remove Bunker at left side of green
  •  Slope left of green to drain
  •  Remodel existing bunker on right side of green
  •  Add new bunker approx 70mtr from green on left side of fairway
  •  Plant 8-10 new trees on right side of fairway approx. 90 m from green
  • Create an open drain across fairway to solve drainage issues on 17 th fairway and provide a hazard for golfers
  • Extend fairway back approx. 10-15m at beginning of fairway.

The budgeted cost of the proposed works is circa. € 20,000.

The above proposal is proposed by the Management & Course Committee – details and proposed drawings are available to view in the Clubhouse.

In accordance with rule 14 of the Club Constitution no business shall be transacted except that as specified in this requisition of the meeting.

News from the Lady Captain

Thanks for all the good wishes at the Drive-In.  It was great to see so many of you there in spite of all the false starts.
 
The Winter League was seriously affected by the recent bad weather. Your best 3 cards out of 5 cards were used to select a winner.
 
SHAMROCK BOWL: Tuesday 27 March:
Weather permitting the Shamrock Bowl will go ahead as planned.
Presentation of the Shamrock Bowl and Winter League prizes will take place at 7.30.
 
All clubs have been issued with a directive from the ILGU on the following:-
All scorecards MUST be returned – failure to comply will result in sanctions.
All ‘away’scorecards MUST be entered in the ‘AWAY BOOK’ in the Ladies Locker Room.
 
LADY CAPTAIN’S AWAY DAY:  Friday 25 May.
The venue for this is Mullingar Golf Club. Green Fee €20 – prepaid.
Details will be posted on the Noticeboard.
 
Congratulations to Trish Nolan who has signed up 35 ladies for the Women in Golf Programme.
 
Good luck to Kay Kavanagh and the Challenge Cup Team who are playing Lucan on Saturday.
